On the right is one of a group of nearly 20 signs we've built for Patrick Air Force Base. Each sign measures about 24"x 36", and demonstrates the minimum size letter we can include on our of our signs (about 1"). Hand-painted graphics can also be included.
We also build the support structures. There are 1x6 boards dadoed into the back of the vertical 4x4's to provide good structural support, and allow fastening the signs from the back. These heavy pressure-treated wood assemblies are not difficult to build, and challenging to ship; but we can provide them in a easy-to-assemble kit form.

Many of these signs have been up, right on the dune line, for five years. Although some were destroyed in recent hurricanes (the photo is of a new replacement) the survivors are holding up very well. The HDU material is ideal for this difficult environment.

How They're Made:

Sandblasted sign faces are most often made of HDU, or high-density urethane. This material has been proven superior to redwood in long-term exterior durability. Backgrounds are sandblasted in dramatic wood grain patterns using special jigs. Structural reinforcement is included, as required, using pressure-treated lumber. All surfaces are sealed, then finished with top-quality paints and stains designed for extended outside exposure in a variety of climates.

What They Cost:

Our cost for each project is based on $55 per square foot. This cost is for a fully finished one-sided sign, designed and finished to your specifications. Signs finished on both sides are always thicker, usually include  screw-eyes or integral pressure-treated wood frames, and are generally priced at $95.00 per square foot.

How to Get One:

Fax a sketch, or email a description,  describing  your requirements. Include as much information as you have, including dimensions (approximate of precise), logos or art to be included, and color preferences.
