	This four-foot square sign was a bit of a challenge. Based on a black and white graphic on a piece of typewriter paper, a little extra effort was called for to convert it into a sandblasted redwood sign. The sky and all the lettering is sandblasted in, leaving the ark, the water, and the border standing out. The sky and rainbow was airbrushed, and then all the details painstakingly painted. Not all projects are as interesting, but it's nice to create one once in a while.
This sign was ordered over the internet. It's actually quite small, which made it more difficult than it would have been in a larger size. The client was very specific about what he wanted, and received a discount for providing the design on disc.
	Here's another internet order. This sign measures about 36" x 72". The client had us build it as a gift to his church. This transaction was the beginning of our super-duty solid plywood crates. The first sign was damaged in shipment across the country and we had to build a second and ship it at no charge.

*How They're Made:*
	Sandblasted sign faces are most often made of HDU, or high-density urethane. This material has been proven superior to redwood in long-term exterior durability. Backgrounds are sandblasted in dramatic wood grain patterns using special jigs. Structural reinforcement is included, as required, using pressure-treated lumber. All surfaces are sealed, then finished with top-quality paints and stains designed for extended outside exposure in a variety of climates.
*What They Cost:*
	Our cost for each project is based on $60 per square foot. This cost is for a fully finished one-sided sign, designed and finished to your specifications. Signs finished on both sides are always thicker, usually include screw-eyes or integral pressure-treated wood frames, and are generally priced at $110.00 per square foot.
